We researched about limericks for one of the chapter chat
tasks.We would like some feedback on our task.

Limericks

A limerick is a silly poem with five lines. They are often funny or nonsensical. Limericks were made famous by Edward Lear, a famous author who wrote the "Book of Nonsense" in the 1800's.
How to write a limerick:
The first, second and fifth lines rhyme with each other and have the same number of syllables (usually 8 or 9).
The third and fourth lines rhyme with each other and have the same number of syllables (usually 5 or 6)
E.g.
e.g
There once was a wonderful star
Who thought she would go very far
Until she fell down
And looked like a clown
She knew she would never go far.
E.g.
There was an Old Man in a boat,
Who said, 'I'm afloat, I'm afloat!'
When they said, 'No! you ain't!'
He was ready to faint,
That unhappy Old Man in a boat.

That's great research - I understand how to write a limerick now and the examples were funny. Have you tried to write one yet? I think it would be tricky!
